What is energy soup?
Energy soup was originally created the wonderful Doctor Ann Wigmore. She came up with this delightful soup because she felt it was easier for us to eat our greens as a soup then it is to eat a salad. Basically energy soup is a blended salad along with other ingredients like sprouts, sunflower greens and so on.
I believe the reason why energy soup is called energy soup because in this soup you are getting a very high amounts of energy, these soups are jam packed with nutrients therefore they give your body a ton of energy that is easy assimilated (processed) by the body because the cell walls of the vegetables and fruit have been broken down therefore the nutrients get into your body faster then when you would chew your salad. Most of us do not chew our food well, which makes processing that food harder on the body.
Energy soup consist of some type of micro green like Sunflower and Buckwheat greens, any type of vegetable you desire and a small amount of fruit maybe an apple and even seaweed like dulse, which is great for adding more minerals to your diet. You can use any combination of the above to make an energy soup.
Why should I consume energy soup?
Energy soup is one of the fastest and quickest ways to get the most nutrients. Ann Wigmore consumed energy soup on a daily basis and from what I hear she consumed this soup several times throughout the day. Energy soup is one of the best soups to consume because if they are made the way Ann Wigmore suggest they will include fresh greens like Sunflower greens and buckwheat greens that you are able to harvest fresh in your home at a very low cost. The best part about growing these greens in your home is that you can harvest them and eat them right away and get all of the nutrients out of them.
When you go to a grocery store and pick up greens or fruits and vegetables you must know that they are not at there freshest state because they have most likely been picked un-ripe and will have traveled thouands of miles before it reaches your local grocery store. This means that your fruits and veggies have already started to lose nutrients.
So the main reason to eat energy soup is because you can grow your own microgreens (Sunflower and Buckwheat greens) right in your home and add your favorite fruits and vegetables and know that you are getting tons of nutrients with your energy soup.
