Check out this amazing story of how Sharon healed herself using Raw Foods!!
I am so happy to be able to share this story with my readers. When Sharon found out she had HPV she decided she would give raw a go before trying other methods. Sharon’s story is definitley inspiring to me and I am sure it will help others.
Sharon gave me the opportunity to ask her a ton of questions, check it out, and don’t forget to share this story with anyone who need it.
When did you decide to go Raw?
I went raw in January of 2008!! Woohoo!!!
What was your diet like before you went raw?
I have always been health conscious. In 2004 I became vegan ‘cold turkey’. I don’t think I was eating enough raw foods because I experienced a lot of hair loss. That scared me so much. I then turned to being a vegetarian with the exception of eating fish. Then in 2006 I started eating beef and poultry again as well. Right before I went raw, I was eating organic meats, vegetables, and dairy products.
How long have you been raw?
I have only been raw since January of 2008.
How was your transition to raw? Was it quick or slow?
I jumped into it with 2 feet. I do occasionally give in to fish and Ezekiel bread…and some coffee. Oh and I eat a lot of honey in my green smoothies.
I know that you have had some success healing yourself, can you share this in detail?
I decided to go raw after I had a colposcopy done on Jan 16, 2008.
My doctor had told me I had the HPV Virus in the beginning of 2007. In the beginning of January of 2008, my pap smear came out abnormal again and continued to show the HPV Virus. So my doctor recommended a colposcopy to check my cervical cells. It’s an examination similar to a pap smear except the doctor looks into your cervix with a microscope. He saw abnormal cells and took a biopsy. The results came back and they weren’t good. He told me that I was in the beginning stages of cervical cancer.
He gave me 2 options:
1) I could get a procedure done to remove the abnormal cells or
2) I could give it a year and see if my body will heal itself.
Well I told the doc that I would give my body a chance to heal itself.
The whole time he was talking to me….I kept thinking of the websites I had encountered extolling the virtues of the raw lifestyle. I knew it would work for me too. And it did!!! I got another pap smear on March 24th. On April the 4th, I received the results. It was totally normal. There was no longer any abnormalities. I no longer had HPV. I was so excited. It happened so quickly. I couldn’t believe it. I thought it would take at least a year’s time for my body to heal.
What would you say to people who have HPV who might be resistant to go raw?
Just by going raw, my body was healed of HPV. It only took two months time! I had the abnormal test results in January and another test taken in March came out normal!! Just two months. That’s amazing.
How has raw changed your life?
There are so many ways it has changed my life. For one thing…the real “Sharon” came out. I have experienced a big personality change.
It’s like I hatched out of a shell. I have more “gusto”. I am more outgoing. It’s great. I no longer care about what other people think.
I guess my personality became raw too. There’s no sugar coating over who I am. I am just me. I don’t think one way and act another way. I’m more true to myself and others.
Another think I have noticed is that my skin has become very smooth.
My hair is shiny too.
I do have more stamina. I can spend the whole day outside doing activities and maintain the energy at a constant throughout the day.
On the other hand, I have noticed that I get tired during the afternoon at work. I think I am detoxing. It’s usually accompanied by headaches and or chills.
Speaking of chills…my average body temperature is now 96 degrees Fahrenheit. I have no idea what that is all about. I think that’s why I’m always cold. Or maybe people here in Houston are just air conditioner crazy. Everywhere you go…you get blasted by a freezing air conditioner blast blowing on you.
I also feel more mentally alert. I can focus a lot better.
Oh and I can’t forget…I feel more aligned with nature. I have started a garden and my family now recycles all glass, paper, and plastics. We even started a worm bin. Yay for vermiculture.
What is your favorite raw food dish?
My all time favorite raw food dish is Spaghetti Marinara with Mushrooms.
Here’s the recipe link:

It’s soooooo good!! Spaghetti used to be my favorite food when I was SAD. Now I’ve found an even better replacement.
Are you married? if so, how has being married affect you going raw?
I am getting married 8/8/2008!!! My fiance lives with me and my daughters. He is totally supportive of me being raw. When we met, I was vegan and he had supported that too as well. I guess he’s just super supportive. He always tries everything I make. He’s a meat and potatoes man though. I’m just trying to set the good example. My whole family has started eating better since I’ve been raw since we always have the kitchen full of fresh vegetables and fruits.
Do you plan to stay raw now that you have been healed of HPV?
Definitely! I am so happy that I have been healed. Eating God’s way is healing. It also prevents future diseases. I don’t want to find out I have cancer or Alzheimer’s later on in life. I also like the way raw people look. Have you ever noticed how beautiful raw people are? I have not seen one ugly raw person. Their inner beauty comes forth and it’s amazing.
Please feel free to share anything else you think would be useful.
One thing I would like to share is that the raw lifestyle should not only be what you eat. I think that you should also have concern with what you put on your body. Shampoos, conditioners, toothpaste (fluoride—YIKES!), deodorant, laundry soap……etc. All those chemicals are not good for you. Try to go organic if you can. Try homemade remedies too.

I’m really happy for Sharon’s great news! Congratulations on her stunning health turnaround.
I am a bit concerned though, as it has only been a couple months. The new test results are certainly exciting and encouraging. But is it too early to tell for sure?
I’d love to hear a follow-up to this after about a year or so. To see if her test results are still okay after some time.
Thank you for sharing this lovely inspirational story!
