Reading quite a bit lately

March 27th, 2008 by Tanisha

Lately I have been reading a book called The Raw Food Detox by Natalia Rose. This is by far a great book for people trying to go from SAD to raw. Natalia has a small test that will help determine how raw you should start out eating. This is great because if lets you know it is ok if you are not ready to be 100% raw and I believe it is better to gradually go raw then to jump right in. Going 100% raw from a SAD diet could cause a ton of symptoms which in turn might make you believe that going raw is making you sicker then eating SAD.

If you are new to raw but afraid to take it all the way just start out slow. Check out Natalia Rose’s book which will help you make healthier cooked selections along with a guide to help you include more raw foods.

Don’t beat yourself up over being 100%, I am learning that overtime with consistency you can get there.

Lately I noticed that my taste buds have totally changed, and I noticed that I don’t put as much honey in my green smoothies. One of the most interesting things I’ve found with raw is that I rarely feel hungry, I believe this is because my body is trying to heal. I decided that I would do a couple half day fast drinking only water and possibly move on to a full day. I think it’s best to introduce fasting at a slow pace.

On another note, I really hope to get back into the swing of doing my research. When I first started this blog my goal was to do research on cooked foods that we all love and show how the ingredients are un-natural and no good for our bodies. Well I haven’t had time to get back to it, but I promise more info is coming. In the meantime, keep the faith and keep trying to accomplish whatever is important to you.
